Morocco CP completion and progression - Nov 2024

We will be venturing to Southern Morocco for some sublime coastal soaring in this amazingly reliable and easily accessible flying paradise.

This trip is ideal for any pilots struggling to finish their CP tasks in the UK due to the winter weather or any pilots wishing to progress further and rack up some flying hours. Even some experienced pilots decide to join our groups as they just want to have some relaxed coastal flying and be part of a friendly group. Suitable weather conditions can never be guaranteed anywhere but this area is one of the most reliable we have found at this time of year. We expect people to finish their remaining CP tasks quickly and then move on progressing and refining their skills. Although this is primarily a coastal soaring location, there are gentle thermals at times, and once finished with your CP tasks, you can learn to do 360 turns and try some gentle thermalling. We will already be staying on the main and best flying site but, if the conditions dictate, we will also visit some other local flying sites within a short drive.

We will be staying in a resort dedicated to paragliding with it’s own purpose made launch just a few steps from your room. The hotel is on a half board basis and it includes your own room, breakfast and evening meals. The hotel has a bar/restaurant, authentically decorated Moroccan rooms, infinity pool, table football, table tennis, rooftop sunset bar/briefing area etc etc. You can even visit their hammam for authentic Moroccan massages after a days flying.

Insurance

You will need to be a current BHPA member and also must have additional holiday travel insurance that includes accident cover for paragliding specifically. You can get this from a number of providers online and we will advise further before departure.

Flying gear

You should have your own paragliding equipment which is new or recently and suitable serviced according to the manufacturers recommendation including a glider, reserve parachute, harness, speed bar, helmet and good ankle supporting boots. You won’t be using a vario whilst on your CP course but it could be useful if you finish your CP tasks early. It is not required though for this trip. Flights

To make the airport transfers simpler all participants should arrive on the same flight from Gatwick which will be arranged nearer the time. If you are arriving on a different flight then you may need to make your own transfer arrangements. Taxis are available.

Costs

This flying holiday will cost £1295 and a £300 down payment will be required to secure a place with the balance payable nearer the time.

NOTE: If you pull out of a trip it leaves us in a difficult position and we may not be able to fill your place in time meaning we lose money and the trip could become non-viable for us. The down payment is therefore a non refundable commitment from you for the particular trip you book. It reserves your space and is not transferable by you to another person or another trip.
The down payment will be returned to you if we have to cancel the trip from our side for any reason or if we cannot go on the trip for some other unforeseen reason. (e.g. Covid). Please only book if you intent to come on the trip.
